![]() I suppose energy siphon would be completely worthless if you never picked up energy orbs or weren't willing to shoot anything, but otherwise it and all of the caster frames (nyx, mag, banshee, saryn, frost, volt) are useful and can definitely do massive killing via spells alone. I certainly do agree that it isn't something you can spam spells on which unfortunately you thought it would. The further you get your frame the more it will do, in your original post you mentioned 40-50% of the time casting and I'm not sure if that metric is super important or not, but I can easily get 60-70% of my kills from abilities only by having a max ranked frame with some good mods and the alternate helm. I'll keep that in mind for their future claims. I'll still use volt until I can get rhino, but I do feel a little ripped off.ĥ0 second cool down = alternative to gunplay. For a game with no solid foundation of what the primary play style was, I'd understand if their definitions got a little ambiguous or completely wrong, but I am unpleasantly surprised. I understand it's a shooter, that's why I trusted the developers' words in stating volt would provide an alternative to it. Volt however, is an excellent warframe and a lot of fun, and his abilities perfect for corpus, and slightly less so grineer. As with much in Warframe, it can take time and a little patience to get the best mods at the level you would like, to get the best from your chosen frame.Īs for a "potent alternative to gunplay" I am afraid you took that a little too literally if you were expecting to play a caster in a game that is predominantly a shooter. ![]() While the use of Warframe abilities is supposed to be tactical decision, not something to be spammed throughout a level, with the right build you can use frame abilities regularly, it’s all about compromise, and this extends to solo play too. "Streamline", a mod that reduces the amount of energy required to use Warframe abilities by up to 30%. “Flow”, a mod that increases your max energy pool ensuring dropped orbs are not wasted, while also minimising the time siphon is doing nothing. Then you can combine this with two mods for your frame. Please for the love of Loki, let there be something I have missed for energy regen :cĪrtifacts when used in a group stack, that's 4 energy, every 2 seconds if everyone is using siphon, even more if you have a trinity in the group who keeps energy vampire up, add to that energy orb drops on top. I would think that description meant the character had innate energy regeneration or some mods / artifacts could contribute more than almost nothing.Ĭan someone please tell me this is being addressed in a future update? Sometimes a series of lockers will give me +75 or more energy within a few seconds, so I wouldn't consider it game breaking for the artifact to not be totally useless. For a 30 minute span, that is unacceptable for the phrase "a potent alternative to gunplay". That would mean the artifact allowed the person to use shock 36 times. Is the wiki outdated? Is such a rare object really that ineffective? If an average match takes someone 30 minutes, 1800 seconds, that's 900 energy. It's almost like diablo 3 with 60-90second cool downs for almost nothing. Anyway, doesn't the energy siphon artifact seem useless? Even outside of solo, the time needed is ridiculous. ![]() I'm happy with the game and all, but I feel very mislead. I was thinking maybe it would take 5 or 10 or maybe even 15 seconds to generate enough energy to attack again, but 1 energy every 2 seconds is 50 seconds for 1 attack.ġ energy every 1 second wouldn't even qualify as "a potent alternative to gunplay". I'm surprised that artifacts can't be upgraded, because 1 energy every 2 seconds sounds horrible for a character with "a potent alternative to gunplay" as it's description for skills that consume 25 energy. That kind of wording almost makes it sound like you could effectively be a caster for maybe 40% or 50% of a stage. I made a volt warframe because the idea of "a potent alternative to gunplay" sounded very appealing.
